Yosemite Fall Photography Workshop
Yosemite in October is a beautiful place to photograph.
The crowds of summer have thinned and the valley’s aspen and oak trees have turned a golden color. This time of year, the chance of intermittent snow and golden fall colors give the valley a magical glow. It provides the perfect light and color for our digital photography workshop in Yosemite.
This Yosemite photography workshop will give you the tools to capture autumn’s changing colors. You will capture unique Yosemite valley photographic compositions you’ll not find any other time of year. We will focus on shooting some of Yosemite’s most iconic views, but also introduce you to new areas you may not know. We have a lifetime of experience photographing Yosemite’s beauty and are experts on the area.
When you attend our Yosemite Photography Workshop, you will learn new skills to create incredible images of this amazing national park. You will be assisted by two photography professionals who have been traveling and photographing this park for close to 50 years!
Take our Yosemite photography workshop and experience the secret locations of Yosemite at its best.
This workshop is limited to 4 people and held mid-week for the best experience.
You will receive one on one assistance with your photography from 2 professional photographers.

We will meet at 7:30 A.M. for a sunrise shoot and will proceed to walk the meadow trials, seeking out the early morning light and reflections of the trees, cottonwoods and ferns, and vistas of distant Yosemite Falls and Half Dome. We’ll seek out the early morning light as it resonates off the meadows. We will break late morning and rest up for our afternoon photoshoot. In the afternoon, we will meet once again and caravan to our sunset location. We will meet afterward in the Mountain Room to discuss the day’s shooting and review images.
Wednesday, October 21, 2020
We will meet at 7:30 A.M. and gather again at our new rally point. We will spend the morning working compositions with some of Yosemite’s most beautiful waterfalls and majestic granite spires as a backdrop. Afterward, we’ll caravan through the valley and closely explore various locations. We will be stopping frequently to venture out to various overlooks and waterscapes showcasing the fall colors throughout the morning. Later in the day, we will gather again to prepare for our late afternoon shoot. Image review and discussion afterward in the Yosemite Lodge Mountain Room.
Thursday, October 22, 2020
This is our last morning exploring the incredible vistas during our Yosemite Photography Workshop. Most noteworthy, we’ll explore some of Yosemite’s most prominent granite peaks as the sun casts its morning glow. Then, we will finally venture out into the surrounding meadows. This area of the valley remains in the shadows most of the day. It is great for both landscape photography and macro compositions. After that, we will walk down the river trail to shoot water compositions along the way. We will wrap the workshop up late morning.
