Private Photography Workshop in Yosemite

Yosemite National Park is one our favorite places to hold our photography workshops and we offer both group and private workshops there. One of our most popular offerings is our private photography workshops in Yosemite. Here are some of the reasons why:

Yosemite is well loved by people from all over the world, and that’s not always a good thing. We take you to places in the park that the majority of the visitors don’t know about. These locations are not on the tourist bus routes and generally not an easy walk from a parking lot. But at the same time, there are some wonderful locations right in the heart of the valley, that many people don’t know about.

Time of Day

Time of day is an important concept to remember when on a landscape photography workshop. Most people don’t enjoy getting up for sunrise, but to get the best images in landscape photography, early morning and just before sunset are the best times to shoot. So, in the early morning, in particular, we have the place to ourselves.

A Chance to Cover a Lot of Territory

When you are with us on a private photography workshop, we can take you to a lot of different areas that wouldn’t normally hold a larger group of people. Why is that important? You will be able to go home with a wide variety of images from many locations. This isn’t always possible when we have our normal group size of 6-8 people. Even this group size is much smaller than some of the other workshops I’ve seen that generally have 20-25 people. It’s hard to be creative in that atmosphere.

Enjoying and special photography moment in Yosemite

Flexibility with your schedule allows you to custom design your workshop any way you’d like. If you are a morning person, we are there. If you want to do night photography, that’s always a great option. But that’s totally up to you.

Flexibility with Locations – Create a Custom Itinerary

We can also completely customize the types of locations you want to see. Do you want to focus on moving water and long exposures? Do you want to practice with getting the sun’s rays effects as the sun is rising? Do you want to learn how to balance out challenging exposures using your histogram and learn more about the tools on your camera?

Easier to Get into Lesser Known Locations

Do you wonder where people find out about lesser know locations in Yosemite National Park? It’s all about being there at the right place, at the right time, in the right light, and we can take you there. My husband and I have been traveling in Yosemite National Park since we were children and know the park intimately. If that’s the kind of experience you want, we can help you.

Focus on Your Creative Intentions

What are your creative intentions for your private workshop? Do you want to learn to pre-visualize your shots? Do you want to learn to shoot for black and white photography? Do you want to learn to shoot with post-processing in mind?

At the beginning of our workshops, we will give you a chance to talk about the kind of things you would like to learn and where you want to go with your private workshop.
