This seventy-mile long and thousand foot deep Columbia Gorge was formed by glaciers producing vertical cliffs that cut through the layers of volcanic rock formed by the range of mountains we now call the Cascades. This gorge is home to some of America’s most pristine and lush waterfalls.

This area receives up to a hundred inches of rain per year.  All of this rain and snow melts from the slopes of Mount Hood and flows downstream over the edge of the gorge and cascades into the Columbia.  There are seventy one waterfalls listed in the guidebooks for the Columbia Gorge and almost all of them drop from the Oregon side of the river.

This workshop is based out of the quaint town of Hood River, Oregon allowing us easy access to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Oregon.  This time of year, the hills are neon green and water flows everywhere.  The waterfalls are full to overflowing and allow for some of the best captures of this type of photography.

We have reserved lodging for the group which you will pay on your own and separate from the workshop.  We will also have use of a presentation room in the evening to go over popular software programs such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and OnOne Software and review the day’s events.
